We are going to Vernon! The Mercury Players won Best Production and a slew of additional awards with their play Timepiece at the TheatreBC South Island Zone Festival and is now invited to perform in front of a larger audience in the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre as part of the provincial TheatreBC Mainstage Festival on July 10th. To be well prepared and to raise some funds for the long trip to Vernon of the set and the 4 cast and 5 crew members, we are putting on Timepiece again in Ladysmith on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of July.
The Ladysmith Little Theatre Company has once again been incredibly hospitable and generous to allow us to do all this plus a workshop in their space at no cost. It’s good to have such wonderful friends!
Retired watchmaker Walter is becoming forgetful — or is he just being capricious? His wife Doris wants to downsize. Walter does not. Their adult children Patrick (a lawyer) and Karla (a music therapist) have lots of advice for Mom and Dad when the siblings are not arguing with each other. Timepiece is a funny, poignant and respectful look at ageing, marriage and family dynamics.
